Week 5
17th August, 2016
Introduction to stage two, the future
During the meeting

-
Outline potential opportunities, challenge and gaps based on the research from stage one
-
Brainstorm then agree on the most reasonable and favoured further scenario
-
Identify four key aspects to explain and support the chosen scenario then assign each member with one aspect to work on
Homework

Research and develop individual page to present your chosen aspects:

-
Future requirements
a. What nutrients customer prefer in future (less fat, more protein)
b. What lamb need to change to meet the requirements

-
Climate
a. How much will the temp change affect sea live and lamb
b. Will there be a shortage in fish to make fish oil in future

-
Ecosystem
a. How the current way of process fat will caused environmental problem?

-
Markert
a.will there be an increased in demand for high quality lamb?
b.will there be an increase need for omega3?
Week 6

Refining searching area
During the meeting, we discussed more in depth of our research area.
The following bullet points shows the areas we need to research on.

Cass Yang
-
temperature change affect sea life and lamb (will there be droughts / earthquake etc. that will affect the quality/ amount of water to breed the lamb/grow crops
-
shortage of fish to make fish oil in the future & heavy metal contamination of both lamb and fish
-
CO2 level will it affect both fish and lamb?

Josh
-
discarded waste of lamb - consequence to ecosystem
-
supplies needed to feed lamb (resources available in the future e.g. grass& grain)
-
land available to breed the lamb (e.g. high country, hillcountry, lowlands)

Mike
-
Nutrients consumer prefer in the future (iron, omega 3)
-
things lamb need to change to meet the requirements
-
potential upcoming lamb consumers country
-
best time when lamb have most nutrients to slaughter
-
are the organs badly contaminated?

Shu
-
upcoming exporters from other countries based on stats
-
upcoming consumers
-
prices of lamb
